How we write about health

Editorial and Medical Review Policy

Every health page on this website is written to help you make informed decisions and is checked by a Hommage Clinic physician before it is published. This page explains who writes our content, how it is medically reviewed, which sources we rely on and how we correct mistakes.

Who reviews our content

Each treatment and condition page shows the name of the doctor who medically reviewed it and the date of the last review. Women's health and cosmetic gynecology pages are reviewed by Dr. Park Yuna , an OB/GYN specialist and the clinic's medical director. Skin and aesthetic pages are reviewed by Dr. Kim Hyunbin or Dr. Hwang Seonhwa , who perform these treatments at the clinic. You can read about each doctor on our doctors page .

How pages are written and checked

  1. Drafting. Pages are drafted by the clinic's content team, which may use writing and research tools, based on clinical guidelines and the way treatments are actually delivered at Hommage Clinic.
  2. Medical review. A clinic physician checks every medical statement, the description of the procedure, the recovery information and the list of risks and side effects, and corrects anything that is inaccurate or unclear.
  3. Publication. The page is published with the reviewing doctor's name and the review date.
  4. Updates. Pages are re-reviewed at least once a year, and sooner when clinical guidance, Korean regulations or the clinic's equipment change.

Sources we rely on

We base medical information on mainstream clinical guidance and official sources, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), together with peer-reviewed medical literature. Where evidence is limited or still developing, we say so.

Our standards

  • We describe possible side effects and risks for every procedure, as required by Korea's Medical Service Act.
  • We do not publish patient testimonials, before-and-after claims, success rates or guarantees.
  • We do not use superlatives such as “best” or “painless”, and we do not publish prices or discounts on this site; your doctor gives you a written quote after consultation.
  • We only describe devices and products that the clinic uses. Where a treatment is not offered at Hommage Clinic, the page says so clearly.
  • We write in plain English for international patients and avoid jargon wherever possible.
